Middle School

Students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades have 2 periods of Art a week.

Middle School Students are provided a Sketchbook in which they take notes, attach handouts and experiment with Art mediums and techniques.

Students are graded on participation, sketchbook/homework assignments and in class projects.

Following the New York State curriculum, students engage in the viewing, making and discussing of Artwork while incorporating the ART Elements and ART Principles of Design.

Many of the projects are interdisciplinary in nature as ART connects with many other subjects; including, Language Arts, Science, Math, Social Studies and Spanish.

Artwork is displayed in the building on a regular basis. Each student will bring home a portfolio in June. The portfolio will contain all projects completed in ART for the 2021-2022 school year.
