Why did this public school theatre department turn to papier-mâché? 

Learning to overcome tight production budgets, we developed a particular knack for turning "trash into treasure." It has taught us to see everything at our (literal) disposal differently, and helped us realize we can create masterful spectacle out of some cardboard, wood glue, and ingenuity.
