HR ARPES endstation of I05 is one of the high-end facilities for ARPES community. The typical beam spot size is about 50~70um, and it allows us to find a proper position of samples that can measure single-crystal surface/terminations. The strength of this facility is the photon flux, and it allows high-energy resolution of incident photon (<1meV for 20eV photon, <3.5meV for 60eV photon).
Nano ARPES endstation of I05 is a leading facility for spatially-resolved ARPES, which is in-operando technique. By employing Fresnel-zone-plate(FZP) optics, beam spot size can be reduced to about 750nm. Moreover, this facility serves a special sample holder with a chip carrier, and it makes the user measures the electronic structure under the device environment. Nowadays, they mount capillary mirror optics, and it is switchable with FZP.
