Our Summer School is an exciting 3-day adventure designed to provide young people with the opportunity to develop new skills, build teamwork, and enjoy the great outdoors. This immersive event includes 2 nights of camping, where participants will experience the thrill of outdoor living, while engaging in a wide variety of activities.
Throughout the event, we offer a mix of exciting and educational activities, including a Fieldcraft Day, where you'll learn essential outdoor survival skills, as well as archery, where you can test your precision and focus. As the sun sets, we gather around the campfire, where we share stories, enjoy great company, and create lasting memories.
Day one is an introduction and we cover basic topics such as first aid, how to build campfires and how to read a map. In the evening we do lots of events such as karaoke, go karts and campfire building. Our team works closley with the families to ensure that everyone is included during the evening activities.
On day two, the adventure kicks off with Fieldcraft Day. A hands-on experience where you'll learn essential skills for survival in the wilderness. You'll be taught practical techniques such as navigation, shelter building, and camouflage, providing you with the knowledge needed to thrive in the great outdoors. This day is all about developing self-reliance, confidence, and a deeper appreciation for nature. We also hold loads of nerf gun battles through the day to put there skills to the test. As the night falls pupils also have the opportunity to go out with the staff team on a designated and contained night patrol to put there skills to the test in a nighttime environment.
Lastly on day three, we begin to conduct our final acitivies and packdown. At the end of the event in the afternoon we hold an awards ceronomy for all the badges, promotions and certificates to be handed out. Following on from that we have a BBQ afterwards to ensure everyone goes home on a high night and a full stomach.
Throughout the Summer School event, participants will also enjoy a range of team-building activities that foster collaboration, leadership, and trust. From obstacle courses to problem-solving challenges, each activity is designed to help you develop key life skills in a supportive, fun environment.
