Our HALO HS Initiative offers 16-25 year students the opportunity to earn a full high school diploma through a unique partnership with Bridges to Opportunity Academy. Through our HALO HS Initiative, students will receive specialized support from professional, experienced, volunteer educators, volunteer HALO Tutors, and an army of angels, to earn their high school diploma and get started on their next steps.

BTOA offer flexible online classes and individually customized schedules that allow students to navigate their current life circumstances while pursuing their high school diploma. Courses range from grade forgiveness to first time AP classes, and each student's schedule is designed individually to meet their needs while ensuring a positive experience in school and earning a high school diploma. 

The HALO HS Initiative provides intense support so students can navigate their life circumstances while completing their high school degree when, where, and how they need to get it done. Whether it be homelessness, full-time jobs, taking care of family, or processing through significant trauma, the HALO HS Initiative believes it is possible to make a better future through education. 

BTO Academy, led by former OCPS Principal of the Year, Jennifer Bellinger, and the HALO HS Initiative, led by OCPS HERO Teacher and Army of Angels Executive Director, Kate Demory, is the first partnership of its kind. The grass-roots model is student-centered and responsive to each and every student's life circumstances. It brings together two expert educators, an army of angels, and a community to demonstrate what closing the achievement gap, not leaving any child behind, an making every student successful can look like in our hometown.

We believe that the HALO HS/BTO Academy model will be the future of education across the nation and an example to all for how our educational gaps and cracks can be filled right in our own communities.
