198th Infantry Brigade:
The 198th Infantry Brigade is tasked with conducting basic combat training (BCT) and advanced individual training (AIT) for new infantry soldiers, focusing on foundational skills such as weapons handling, marksmanship, physical fitness, and basic combat tactics. This brigade ensures that recruits develop the necessary skills and mindset to transition from civilians to capable infantry soldiers. The 198th Infantry Brigade as part of the United States Army Reserve's 99th Division. It was active from 1967 through 1971 and has been active since 2007 as an Infantry Training Brigade as part of the US Army Infantry School.
199th Infantry Brigade:
The 199th Infantry Brigade, on the other hand, is primarily responsible for the Basic Officer Leader Course (BOLC) and various other advanced training programs for officers, providing in-depth instruction on leadership, tactical operations, and combat strategies. Officers are trained to lead infantry units effectively in diverse and challenging environments, emphasizing both technical proficiency and strategic acumen.
507th Infantry Regiment:
The 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment was initially formed at Fort Benning (today Fort Moore), Georgia on 20 July 1942, under command of Colonel George V. Millett. It would participate in three operations during World War II: D-Day, the Battle of the Bulge and Operation Varsity.
