The University of North Carolina at Greensboro is pleased to again announce plans for Summer Music Camp, the largest university music camp in America! This summer we will offer two one-week camps, serving over 2,040 musicians, with programs in band, mixed chorus, orchestra, and piano.
Designed for musicians with at least two years of experience with their instrument, directed by TYJB director, Kobie Watkins and TYJE director, Gregg Gelb. Students will be broken up into smaller groups based on skill level. Musicians will explore jazz style, improvisation, and prep for TYM auditions (if applicable).
Our vision is to lead music education and empowerment, inspiring the next generation of musicians and leaders.
By embracing innovation, inclusivity, and collaboration, we seek to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young women, shaping confident, well-rounded individuals who will contribute positively to society. We aim to inspire and empower a new generation of musicians and leaders.
The Concert Band Camp at the Bands of America Summer Camp offers a week-long, immersive camp experience for middle and high school band students. Students will spend a fun and inspiring week with renowned teachers, exciting artists, and fellow campers from across the country. Designed from the ground up with the band student in mind, students will grow as both musicians and individuals. Their experience will be positively life-changing!
Our mission to inspire young artists to achieve their best has not wavered since our first day of camp in 1966. Blue Lake’s impact is defined by thousands of students and the dedicated staff and faculty who have served Blue Lake since its inception 58 years ago. We continue to offer a unique opportunity for students to look up and discover their potential as musicians, dancers, writers, actors, artists – and individuals. It is our tradition.
