ABOUT ARMA
The American Rock Mechanics Association (ARMA) is a professional and international engineering and scientific society, which promotes interaction among specialists, practitioners, scholars, and educators in rock mechanics and geomechanics. ARMA advocates for individuals and firms in all aspects of rock mechanics and geomechanics including multidisciplinary rock physics and rock engineering technology advancement and technology applications for civil engineering, mining engineering and tunneling, oil and gas recovery, and geo-related socioeconomic problem-solving. It provides forum and information resources for the members, related organizations, and the public, while its strong student membership ensures future continuity.
The ARMA IIT (ISM) Student Chapter is a recently formed sister organization of ARMA. It is the first South Asia ARMA Student chapter. It is established to provide a platform for students who are interested in rock mechanics and geomechanics. It engages with different stakeholders through meetings, discussions, and events. We encourage the rock mechanics enthusiasts to join the chapter to learn as well as contribute to growing the student chapter.
