Arlo Camera notification and alert

Changing Netgear Arlo camera modes can alter Arlo camera notification and alert behaviour. When motion or any activity is captured in the motion zone, the user will be notified and alerted according to the mode they have selected. There are four different settings to choose from with the Arlo camera setup.

Arlo Modes

Armed mode: When the Arlo Camera setup detects any motion in Armed mode, it will record video for 10 seconds by default, and you will receive a notification or alert when the Arlo camera was triggered.

Disarmed mode: As the name implies, no warning or alarm will be sent to the user, and the Arlo camera will not be triggered by any sound or motion.

Geofencing mode: Geofencing mode is similar to schedule mode in that it controls how your Arlo camera works. The position of your GPS-enabled phone will be used in the geofencing mode. When you are at home, it can identify your location and automatically switch to disarm mode; when you leave the house, it will immediately turn to armed mode.

What are the rules?

For each mode, Arlo has its own set of regulations. You can change the settings for each mode separately.

The sensor on the Arlo Camera that detects motion or sound is known as the trigger device.

The actions that are initiated when motion and sound are detected are known as triggers. The sensitivity of the camera for sound and motion can be adjusted by the homeowner to reduce false alarms.

Devices: With the Arlo pro or Arlo - Free system, when motion or sound is detected on one camera, a trigger is sent to the other camera, instructing it to begin recording. If your garage camera detects motion, you can tell Arlo, the camera on your front door, to start recording.

Depending on the mode you choose, each Arlo device that detects motion or sound can record video, take a photo, or do nothing. The user can change the recording length from 10 seconds to 2 minutes. If the user has an Arlo SmartHub or Arlo Base, they can set the siren to go off when the trigger is triggered.

Arlo can send a notice, an email alert, or both when a trigger is detected. When the trigger is detected, the user can also opt to send an email alert to their family, friends, or anybody else they want to reply to.
