Wellness/Physical Education Requirements:
Students at Arlington High School will take a year long Grade 9 Wellness Class that meets twice a week for the duration of the school year. Click on the "Grade 9 Wellness" button above to see a description of the course.
In grades 10-12, students are required to take a total of 4 Quarter electives while they are in grades 10-12. Students typically take two quarter electives in grade 10, and the remaining two electives in grades 11 and 12. These electives meet twice a week for a term. Students are welcome to take more electives beyond the requirement. Click on the "Grades 10-12 Wellness Electives" button above to see a description of each elective offered.
Family and Consumer Sciences Overview
Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) at the high school offer courses to help students develop a variety of personal and career skills. Classes are in laboratory settings that provide opportunities for learning by demonstration, practical hands-on experiences, and observation and discussion. These courses encourage accomplishment through work in small groups and individual projects. The skills learned in these classes will be useful to students now and throughout their lives.
