Tucson

The University's "Visit the UA" site provides an abundance of information about visiting campus, including things to see and places to eat on and off campus).

Food

There are a number of fast-food restaurants, coffee shops, sit-down restaurants, and bars within 2 blocks of the university. The Student Union, at the center of campus, holds more fast-food choices services (limited on the weekend). Heading six blocks west (away from campus) on University Blvd. will take you to 4th Avenue, which has many coffee shops, bars, restaurants, and souvenir shops. If you go all the way down 4th Avenue (about a mile south; a left off of University Blvd), you will end up downtown, where you can find more restaurants, bars, clubs, and other entertainment.

ATMs

ATMs are available on University Blvd. (Wells Fargo), on Park Ave. (Chase—bank and ATM), and at the Student Union (Wells Fargo, Chase, Bank of America, and others).

Books and Supplies

The Student Union is also home to the University of Arizona BookStore. Supplies, souvenirs, and basic necessities are available here. Some toiletries, etc. are also available directly across from the book store in the U-Mart.

Copies

Copies are available on weekdays only from 8am-5pm at Fast Copy in the Student Union. There is also a FedEx/Kinko's about 1.5 miles from the conference site (at 2607 East Speedway Blvd.). Additionally, if you send a handout to the ALC organizing committee at least 24 hours before your talk, we should be able to provide you with black and white copies free of charge.
