As an international student, you'll pay ASU for tuition and fees. Housing and meals, books and supplies, transportation, and personal expenses will vary depending on your spending choices and should be budgeted into your college expenses. As an ASU student, you will pay tuition (the cost of taking your classes) and fees (a charge for the use of something like technology or the gym). Your tuition and fees will differ from other students based on a variety of factors.

Students who have established that they are Arizona residents for tuition purposes typically attend college at a lower rate than out of state students. Students are asked to prove their residency status by meeting certain criteria.

Students who are not residents of Arizona will pay an out of state tuition rate. Some non-resident students may be eligible for reduced tuition through programs such as the Western Undergraduate Exchange.

ASU consists of learners from locations across the globe, including nearly 1,000 foreign national students enrolled from abroad. ASU Online typically considers any foreign national enrolled from abroad to be an international student. However, those with foreign credentials, regardless of location or citizenship, may also be required to submit translated transcripts or proof of English proficiency.

The overall cost of attending ASU Law is among the lowest of all American Bar Association accredited law schools. The tuition and fee estimates below assume full-time enrollment (12+ semester hours per semester) for the entire academic year. We want students to do everything they can to minimize debt while in law school so that they are well-positioned to pursue their passions upon graduation. Therefore, we strongly encourage students to follow a thrifty budget plan.

Unless otherwise stated in your appointment letter, assistantships do not cover university mandatory fees, program tuition and/or fees for the academic year or summer sessions; these are your responsibility. For more information of the ASU cost of attendance visit -cost-attendance.

This program may be eligible for an Optional Practical Training extension for up to 36 months. This OPT work authorization term may help international students gain skills and experience in the U.S. Those interested in an OPT extension should review ASU degrees that qualify for the STEM-OPT extension at ASU's International Students and Scholars Center website.

The admission standards for majors in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, shown below, are higher than minimum university admission standards. International students must meet the same admission standards, with the possible additional requirement of a minimum English language proficiency test score. If the university requires an English proficiency test score from the applicant, then admission to engineering requires a minimum TOEFL iBT score of 79 (internet-based test, taken in a testing center), a minimum IELTS score of 6.5, a minimum PTE score of 58, a minimum Duolingo English score of 105, or a minimum Cambridge English exam score of 176.

For resident undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in ASU Online, base tuition will increase by 2%. Online base tuition for Arizona resident students is capped at the resident full-time on-campus tuition rate per semester.

For Arizona resident students receiving an Obama Scholarship, College Attainment Grant or Arizona Promise Award, as long as you maintain eligibility, your gift aid will cover this tuition and fee increase as part of your financial aid.

The Barrett Parent Scholarship is an award made up entirely of gifts from caring parents who want to help Barrett students access all the College offers. The scholarship is in place to assist with the cost of attendance, including tuition, program fees, housing, dining, and books.

Dr. Christine Mauro is a proud alumna of Barrett, The Honors College. Dr. Mauro grew up in a small town in Central Pennsylvania. As a child, she dreamed of getting out and learning firsthand what the great big world was all about. In 2022, she endowed a Barrett scholarship to support the education of out-of-state students enrolled in the School of Molecular Sciences (CLAS) or the School of Biological and Health Systems Engineering (Fulton).

The purpose of the Houts Family Scholarship is to provide support to out of state students at Barrett, The Honors College who are out-of-state residents and are active in service. The scholarship will help students with financial need pay for the cost of education.

The Jordan A. Hibbs scholarship provides support to students enrolled at Barrett, The Honors College who are transfer students from a Maricopa County Community College who have overcome challenges in their journey to higher education. Hibbs scholars will receive an award of $1,000 to help cover their tuition expenses and Barrett fees.

While Samantha Stachel cannot physically attend ASU as a student, her spirit and passion for life, academic excellence, and helping others will be present at Barrett through the Samantha Stachel Play Big Scholarship established in her honor. This scholarship inspires and recognizes students who have achieved much in the face of their life challenges. Applicants must have displayed academic success, leadership, and character and not let adversity define them. Two recipients will be selected as Play Big Scholars and will receive funds to be used toward tuition, room, and board, or books. It is the donor preference that one scholarship should be awarded to an alumnus of Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Arizona. Read more information about the scholarship or apply online.

International students applying to graduate programs in the Department of English at ASU must submit evidence of English proficiency. This can be done in one of the following ways:

1. One of the following results on a standardized English proficiency test: (a) 100 or higher on the IBT; (b) 7.0 or higher on the IELTS. The MTESOL program will also accept a 68 or higher on the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTEA).

2. A grade of "A" in all Advanced 2 classes in the ASU Global Launch Program.

3. A grade of A (94% or higher) in the English for Graduate Admission online course.

4. A grade of A (94% or higher) in the English Proficiency for Graduate Studies + CEFR Certificate online course.

5. A score of 120 or higher on the Duolingo English test.

6. One of the following from a regionally accredited college/university in the US: (a) a bachelor's degree or higher; (b) at least 90 semester hours of undergraduate coursework with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale; (c) at least 9 semester hours of graduate coursework with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

7. Applicants who have earned the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree or higher from an international institution that is officially recognized by that country, and the country is on the ASU English Speaking Country and Territory List. ASU must have official transcripts with the degree posted.

8. Applicants who have earned the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree or higher from an international institution that is officially recognized by that country, and the sole medium of instruction for the program was in English. Student should email gograd@asu.edu to request exemption and include a letter from the institution on letterhead indicating language of instruction or provide information on the institution website to verify language of instruction.
