Aris's love for music started early on in life, from listening to radio and television broadcasts. He started taking classical piano lessons at age seven studying with Robert Meyer and Evgenia Lavrovskaya-Mattson before taking a break from classical piano. When he was accepted to Community High School in Ann Arbor, he joined the esteemed Community High Jazz Band, and discovered a new path with the piano. After joining the program he began lessons with area piano professionals Bryan DeBlasio and Rick Roe. While in high school, Aris's combo received Downbeat Student Music Awards in 2018 and 2019. In his senior year, Aris received the AAPS Rick Burgess Scholarship, awarded to advance his studies in jazz music.
Continuing his studies at Western Michigan University under the tutelage of Matthew Fries (Curtis Stigers, Keith Hall), Aris joined regional jazz fusion band Minor Element, traveling with them to performances in Chicago, Detroit, Windsor CA, and NAMM 2023. In 2020, he and his combo led by Drew Deur received another Downbeat Student Music Award, this time in the graduate student division. At Western, he honed is arranging and composing abilities as well as his performing chops. In his freshman year he arranged Jacob Collier's Do You Feel Love? for WMU's Gold Company and GCII for their spring performance GC42. He also arranged and performed one of Chris Potter's compositions entitled Sky for his guest artist arrival in 2022.
Since graduating from WMU in 2024, Aris has been involved in productions of musicals around Ann Arbor, serving as music director for Seussical! at Young People's Theatre and RENT at Huron High School. Aris also leads his namesake trio, and is a member of various ensembles around the Michigan area.
Throughout college and high school, Aris has collaborated with other artists and musicians to create new music. This includes working with professional musicians around the country as well as local student groups.
His past partnerships include working with Clara Kluge, an LA-based painter and visual artist. He created improvised music as part of a larger artistic project with the WPC (World Parkinson Congress) to raise awareness for Parkinson's Disease. The project for PD also includes dance and photography.
His involvement in the group Minor Element — a jazz-fusion large ensemble based in West Michigan — from 2019-2024 afforded many performance opportunities, in Anaheim for NAMM 2023, and Windsor CA at the Phog Lounge.
Aris is a collaborative partner with Expressive E's "Osmose" keyboard project, particularly for its use in live performance.
