A1689-zD1 is a galaxy in the Virgo constellation cluster. It was a candidate for One Of the most distant and therefore earliest observed galaxy discovered, based on a photometric redshift. If the redshift, z~7.6, is correct, it would explain why the galaxy's faint light reaches us at infrared wavelengths.
Radius: 5,000 light years
Magnitude: 25.3
Constellation: Virgo
Apparent magnitude (V): 25.3
Redshift: 7.6
Did you know: A1689-zD1 is the 10th-most distant astronomical object by redshift (z = 7.5).
