Our current research interests are in the following areas:
Precision Laser Spectroscopy of atoms, ions and molecules
Laser cooling and trapping of cold and ultracold atoms, ions and molecules
Cavity ring down spectroscopy (CRDS) of atoms, molecules and plasma
We are looking for motivated postdoctoral fellows, PhD students, undergraduate students and project interns having good academic records throughout with some previous project experience or a strong interest in the following research areas:
1. Lasers (solid-state, semi-conductor diode, tapered amplifiers, etc.).
2. Optics and opto-mechanics.
3. Electronics (hands on experience preferred like soldering, etc.). Experience with electrical circuit design using EAGLE, ORCAD.
4. Experience/interest in programming with ARDUINO, FPGA (Verilog/VHDL), etc.
5. Experience/interest in interfacing instruments for data acquisition and control through LABVIEW, etc.
6. Expereience/interest in mechanical engineering design using software (AUTOCAD, SolidWorks)
7. Strong/good programming skills in LabView, Python, Mathematica, Matlab.
8. Understanding and/or experience with UHV (ultra-high vacuum) systems.
9. Design of experiments and analysis of data.
PhD candidates should have M.Sc. in Physics, valid GATE score or UGC CSIR-NET (JRF)/ INSPIRE or similar independent fellowships.
