Water, Complexity, and the Future of Urban Resilience
A
CIVIL ENGINEER.
WATER RESOURCES RESEARCHER.
PROJECT MANAGER
I completed my undergrad in Civil Engineering from the Department of Civil Engineering of Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) and Masters in Applied Statistics & Data Science from Jahangirnagar University. Both are located in Bangladesh. Being very passionate about research activities and learning new things, I was engaged in research activities from the beginning of my undergrad. At the time of my graduation, I was the author of 12 international publications. After graduation, I joined Disaster Management Watch (DM WATCH), a research, consultancy, and training organization, where I worked for more than 3 years on professional research projects under the cluster of Urban Development and Management. Then, I worked for 11 months as a 'Programme Officer-Engineer' at WaterAid Bangladesh focusing on climate-resilient WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), Urban-rural resilience, and nature-based solutions among others. Currently, I am pursuing my PhD. in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, USA focusing on Next-gen water systems.
As a Water Resources Researcher, I study water’s potential resilient and sustainable journey from nature to end users—debating with the complexities of climate, infrastructure, human dynamics, and systemic interactions. Through discussion with Hydro-Climatology, Socio-Environmental Hydrology, Integrated Water Resource Management, and Water Cyber-Physical-Social Systems, I try to simplify water stresses visualizing through hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, system dynamics, data-driven numerical modeling or programing to capture the complex interdependencies among critical integrated urban services—energy, water, transportation, and communication—especially under extreme conditions.
I tackle these researches through theoretical, conceptual, and numerical modelling. Through these works, I develop more practical recommendations for governmental and non-governmental agencies on how to improve operational efficiency, increase disaster-related safety, and promote more just and equity to society.

Publishing has allowed me to network with other scholars and to further refine my own ideas and research. It's something I enjoy immensely and hope that these papers will help others further their science and welcome any opportunities to collaborate.
Working in multiple projects have allowed me to build network with professionals and to further implement my own ideas and research outcomes. Combination of designing research and implement that in field is always thrilling and refining the learning.
