2. [Grant Awarded] Leading University Funds ARIFEX Chest Disease Research, We are excited to announce that ARIFEX Lab has received a grant from Leading University (RPCC & CRISP). The funding will support our new project: “A Machine Learning–Based Framework for Multi-Class Chest Disease Prediction and Automated Diagnostic Report Generation,” which focuses on assisting clinicians with automated disease detection and reporting.

I am Md. Arifuzzaman, originally from Gangni, Meherpur, Bangladesh. I completed my SSC at Gangni High School and HSC at New Government Degree College, Rajshahi.
In 2012, I co-founded Gangni Gonit Poribar, a mathematics club dedicated to helping students strengthen their understanding of mathematics and other scientific disciplines. Teaching through this initiative sparked my lifelong passion for education and mentorship.
In the academic year 2015–16, I was awarded the prestigious fully funded Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) scholarship by the Government of India. Through this opportunity, I earned my Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering from Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad, India.
After returning to Bangladesh, I joined Leading University, Sylhet, as a Faculty in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. I strive to inspire my students by combining technical expertise with the cultural and academic insights gained through my international education.
With over four years of teaching and research experience, my academic interests lie in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), particularly Deep Learning for healthcare applications. My research focuses on medical imaging, biomedical signal processing, and health data analytics.
Under my supervision, our AI research lab explores advanced AI methodologies for disease diagnosis, predictive modeling, and explainable decision support systems. Our work involves medical image analysis, disease localization, and the development of clinical datasets aimed at improving diagnostic accuracy, enabling early disease detection, and advancing data-driven healthcare innovation.
