This was my second-ever project working with Storyboard Pro. I was asked by my professor, Bob Keen, to pick a scene from a piece of media that I love and to board it, so I picked an opening scene from Juno Steel (The Penumbra Podcast).
Picking an audio-based piece of media forced me to build the world just from the sounds I heard and match their rhythm and feel as well.
It helped me learn a lot of the different features of the program -- mainly the camera movements.
This was an animatic I did as practice based on another audio drama called Midnight Burger. Episode 12 was my favorite, and Ted's character became my all-time favorite character. His dialogue and his chemistry with Caspar was incredible, and I knew I had to board the scene in the way I saw it in my head. I later designed two of the podcast's episode cover illustrations.
I've included the original boards as well as the script screenshots below! The script can be found on Midnight Burger's website.
