Fall 2019 (above): Mount Si. I had some adventurous roommates this year that loved to hike. We enjoyed many gorgeous trails and parks all over Seattle!
Fall 2017 (right): Views half way through a Husky Running Club run to Greenlake.
Fall 2020: Medical Physiology notes. This class was my first experience integrating biochemistry, physiology, anatomy and organic chemistry coursework in the context of human health. It was a challenging but rewarding class.
By nature, my interdisciplinary coursework exposed me to many ideas and concepts outside my area of study. My most exciting and fulfilling learning experiences occurred when material in one class was enhanced by what I had previously learned in another. As a future healthcare provider, I know my ability to draw connections across disciplines will improve the way I provide holistic care to my patients. Outside the classroom, I'm fortunate to have developed connections to the Seattle area and to peers and friends.
Winter 2018: Unite UW Retreat. This club was probably my favorite freshman year experience! The club's purpose is to build community between domestic and international students. I connected to so many kind people and started to feel like I belonged on such a large campus.
Spring 2019: My research experiences and biochemistry coursework helped me prepare to present on antimicrobial resistance to rifampicin in BIOL 200.
Winter 2021: Snowstorm aftermath. I trudged to the quad one afternoon to find dozens of students playing in the snow. Everyone spontaneously formed groups, built snow forts, and had a snowball fight. The spontaneous joy felt wonderful after so many isolated months.
