What is the ARGYLE AANHPI BLOCK PARTY? 

Argyle Street, at the center of Chicago's premiere Southeast Asian business and entertainment district, will play host to a one-day event on Saturday, May 18 to celebrate Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month. The inaugural "Argyle AANHPI Block Party" will bring vendors, artists, cultural organizations, and people together in celebration of the Argyle corridor and the wide array of diversity that exists within Chicago’s AANHPI community.

PERFORMANCES

From traditional Asian to Asian American performances, local Uptown hip-hop artists to Southeast Asian vocalists and singers, we aim to present a diverse line-up that transcends cultures and generations.  Details here!

VENDORS

HAIBAYO presents an array of arts & crafts and artisan vendors that will be selling their creative pieces. From packaged moon cakes to apparel to art prints and paper, there will be something for everyone to take home with you! Click here to see vendors!

FOOD VENDORS 

We will have both prepared food and packaged food vendors at the event indoors. Packaged food vendors will be selling their products within the Qideas x HAIBAYO space at 1132-34 W Argyle. Click here for details!

ART

 From art programming for youth to participatory art from local artists to an amazing photo exhibit by an award-winning photographer, we will have many engaging art-based activities for those of all ages. More info here!

LOCATION MAP


This event will take place both indoors and outdoors. We will be activating multiple spaces within the 1132-34 W Argyle location, home to Qideas and HAIBAYO's future space. There will be separate rooms and spaces allocated for youth programming, vendors, live music, and engaging activities. Uni Uni (1130 W Argyle) will host live music and vendors. We will activate the outdoor sidewalk and curb lane spaces for more activity! Stay tuned for the layout of the entire event!
