Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 11, 2026
Argo ("we," "our," or "the App") is a mobile application for iPhone that helps users discover "Encounters" by analyzing their own trip plans. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding any information associated with your use of Argo. We are committed to protecting your privacy and process all data locally on your device wherever possible.
Argo does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data from your device to our servers or any third parties. There is no user account creation, no analytics tracking, no advertising identifiers used for profiling, and no data sharing with external services.
We do not collect device identifiers, IP addresses, usage statistics, or any other telemetry.
Trip data you load (Excel spreadsheets) remains entirely under your control and is processed only on your device.
Argo does not send any data anywhere.
You browse to and select a folder on your device containing Excel spreadsheets with trip information (e.g., planned routes, stops, dates, and times). Argo loads, analyzes, and visualizes this data locally in three views (timeline, map, and list) to identify potential Encounters—places where trips intersect or come close in time, location, or both.
You are solely responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions or consents for all trip data you load into Argo, including data shared by others (e.g., via RV LIFE Trip Wizard or similar third-party tools). Argo has no affiliation with RV LIFE or any other trip-planning service.
Trip data is never uploaded, shared, or accessible to us or any third party.
Argo saves your loaded trip data and app settings (such as preferences) in a folder named “argo\setting” on your device (in the same folder you loaded trip data from). This data stays on your device and is not backed up to iCloud or transmitted unless you choose to do so through your device’s own backup features.
You can delete this data at any time by removing the folder and deleting the app.
Argo identifies “Encounters” in pre-planned trips specified by the user, as such Encounters are only theoretical and may not actually occur in the places and on the times presented by Argo. The user is solely responsible for the use of any information or data exports provided by Argo.
We
Argo uses your device’s location services only for these purposes:
Plotting your current position on the in-app map.
Issuing proximity alerts when you are near stops or points from your uploaded trip plans.
We request location permission only when the app is in use (or as allowed by iOS). Location data is used temporarily for these features and is not stored, tracked over time, shared, or transmitted. Argo does not track other users or enable any form of location sharing.
You can disable location access at any time via your device Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Argo. Some features (e.g., proximity alerts and live mapping) may be limited or unavailable without it.
No third-party SDKs for analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or data processing are integrated.
Argo is an independent application developed with no affiliation, partnership, endorsement, or relationship with RV LIFE, RV LIFE Trip Wizard, or any of their affiliated companies.
RV LIFE Trip Wizard is mentioned solely for the convenience of our users. Users may choose to export trip data from RV LIFE Trip Wizard (or similar third-party tools) into Excel files for use with Argo. We do not control, maintain, or have any access to RV LIFE’s services, and we are not responsible for their functionality, data exports, privacy practices, or terms of service.
References to third-party tools (e.g., RV LIFE Trip Wizard) are for user convenience only. We do not control or endorse their privacy practices, and any data exported from them is solely your responsibility.
Since all processing occurs locally on your device, security depends primarily on your device’s protections (e.g., passcode, biometric authentication, and iOS sandboxing). We recommend keeping your device updated and secured.
Access and Deletion: All your trip data and settings are stored locally. You control them fully and can delete them anytime.
Location: Manage via device settings as noted above.
Changes: We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. We will post the new version in the app and update the Effective Date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
There are no fees. Argo is provided free of charge and there are no in-app purchases.
While we cannot guarantee ongoing support or regular updates, we love hearing from our users. Feel free to send feedback, suggestions, or questions to argo.encounters@gmail.com. Your input is highly valued and helps make Argo better.
