composite figure: any figure or shape that may be divided into at least two basic figures
dissect: to methodically separate or 'cut up'
net: a flat figure that can be folded to form a closed, three-dimensional object (definition - pg 182)
surface area: the sum of all the areas of all the shapes that cover the surface of a 3D object
right prism: geometric solid that has a polygon as its base and vertical sides perpendicular to the base. As a result, the side faces are rectangles (definition)
rectangular prism: geometric solid that has a rectangle as its base and vertical sides perpendicular to the base. As a result, all faces are rectangles.
face: an individual flat surface on a 3D figure
annulus: a plane figure that is the area between a pair of concentric circles
