For us boarding school students

Objectives

As more US boarding school students prepare to stay in Hong Kong and begin the Fall semester remotely due to Covid-19, many are worried that they may be missing out on the full boarding experience without the on-campus interaction and engagement. ARCH is prepared to ease your concerns.

Please be invited to enroll in ARCH’s Inter-School Clubs and Activities for US Boarding School students (even if you are not an ARCH student). This program facilitates unique opportunities for meaningful interaction and collaboration, highlighting the core of the US boarding school experience and supplementing this year’s remote learning FREE OF CHARGE!

Our Clubs

Please take a look at each club and SIGN UP HERE

This club offers a wide range of community service opportunities for students to participate based on their interests. We have combined art and music with community service as a way for students to give back to our community through their passions.

Did you know that approximately 31% of Americans are living with savings that will only sustain them for around 3 whole days? As we learn about brief economic concepts in high school, Invest for Education aims to help members get a head start in learning basic financial management skills that are crucial for our daily lives and times in need. We will be looking into basic financial management and assessment concepts, accounting concepts, stock valuation and analyses of multiple stocks. Furthermore, the club aims to cultivate its members to contribute to charitable and educational causes using investment profits.

COVID and social distancing have kept us indoors for a while, but it’s time to pick up an active lifestyle again! Whether it be spike ball, dodge ball, or frisbee, please join us for fun afternoons connecting over friendly sports games!

Many students, especially new/incoming boarding school students, may want to explore public speaking and speech & debate but may be intimidated or do not know how to get started. The Speech and Debate workshops aim to help students gain a better sense of what more competitive speaking is like, especially in speech tournaments in competitive US league settings. Participants will learn to build their confidence and essential public and competitive speaking skills before returning to their boarding schools and immersing themselves in respective debate and speech teams!

Stepping is a form of African-African performing art that reflects unity and empowerment. The Interscholastic Asian American Quarterly, or Woodblock Press, is an interdisciplinary independent publication that unites and empowers Pan-Asian students across 20+ boarding and day schools that began in New England, and now spans nationwide and internationally. Students contribute with the belief that cultural dialogue must transcend the geographical separation of our campuses, bringing attention to issues of identity and mental wellbeing in the Pan-Asian community.

We have previously led a collegiate workshop with Harvard’s Asian American Task Force and are participating in a research study about collegiate newspapers. We welcome 9th to 12th grade boarding school students, particularly those who are passionate in arts, literature, or opinion writing to join us and let your voices shine!
