With officials now mandating social distancing amid global health concerns over the coronavirus, millions of people can expect to have their daily routines and meeting styles impacted. But not everyone is accustomed to attending virtual meetings, and it can be a huge adjustment. Gratefully, we have a Program of Living that helps us navigate change!
The bright side of meeting from home is that we save time on a commute, spending more time with family. Maybe transportation is an issue. Challenges, including loneliness, and a heightened penchant for distraction can have a significant effect on our psyche and sobriety. So, virtual meetings are here to help us stay connected.

Do I need to have a computer with a camera to join a meeting online?
No, you do not need to have a camera on your computer to join an online meeting. Even if your computer does have a camera, it is up to you whether or not your likeness is broadcasted to the virtual meeting. You can even call in to the meeting with your telephone.

Is the ARC doing anything in virtual meetings to protect my anonymity?
Yes! Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all our Traditions and as such, all Zoom meetings that are hosted by the ARC have disabled Auto saving chats, File transfer, Feedback to Zoom, Screen sharing, desktop/screen share for users, Remote control, Local recording, Cloud recording and Automatic recording.
We have allowed “Virtual background” functionality and it allows the user to use a virtual background instead of the inside of their home.

I don’t have a computer, can I join a virtual meeting by phone?
Yes! You can. Zoom has dial-in numbers available and are included on each Meeting Invitation. Contact your host for your dial in number.
Do I need a Zoom account to attend a meeting?
It is not necessary to sign up for a Zoom account to attend a meeting, but it does help to have one since it can make joining a meeting much faster.
I’m ready to chair my face to face meeting as virtual meeting, will the ARC help?
Absolutely! We are all missing our home groups! Fill out the form below and the ARC Secretary will set you up with hosting privileges right away. In the meantime, you may also check out the other resources we have available on the site to prepare for virtual meetings.

Besides making sure you still have a safe meeting space online even if we can’t offer our facility, we have started posting Meeting Literature and Virtual Meeting articles to welcome you to the online community. We also have a great Recovery Links page that acts as a hub for many fellowships.
I attend virtual meetings, how can I practice my seventh tradition?
Each group is fully self-supporting through their own contributions.
