CONTEXT

The Palaciero Valley basin, in the Lara state in Venezuela, where we live is a fragile ecosystem of great beauty, a border between urban and wild forests, between large savannas and semi arid, this habitat deserves to be preserved as an ecosystem and regenerated for present and future generations.

For many years we have cultivated these lands in a conventional way and we are witnessing how year after year the agricultural frontiers expand, causing the loss of native species of flora and fauna, shrinking aquifers, and degraded soils.

To counteract this situation, we understand that it is necessary to make a leap towards regenerative agriculture, and for this, we have been working on the application of the principles of agroforestry and agroecology in our work.

WORKS AND PRINCIPLES

We have already started the planting of the Food Forest Cacao Ancestral Larense 2021, in this first environmental regeneration campaign in our bioregion the goal is to plant 2000 trees.

We are applying the principles of permacultural design with an agroecological direction in order to generate resilient food systems.

With this practice, we are going to restore the forests of our bioregion, conserve biodiversity, sequester carbon, regenerate the soil, take care of our watersheds and promote conservation work in the community.

CAMPAIGN

The creation of this Alimentary Forest has already passed the phases of selecting native seed of the varieties and the planting in the nursery of species such as Cacao Ancestral Larense, Totumo, Parapara, Coco de mono and Maracuyá, among others.

We invite you to join us in the care and preservation of this corner of the planet, with your help and the communion and will of many we can carry out this project.
