WHY I'M RUNNING

OWEN SOUND DESERVES TO BE HEARD

I decided to run because I believe residents deserve a stronger voice at City Hall.

As I've gone door to door across Owen Sound, I've had conversations with people from many different backgrounds.

And I've learned something important:

People don't always expect a councillor to agree with them.

They want someone who will listen to them.

They want someone who will take their concerns seriously.

They want someone who will ask questions.

And they want someone who will represent them honestly.

I've heard concerns about property taxes, roads, infrastructure, transit, housing, downtown safety, seniors, recreation and the future of Owen Sound.

Those conversations have reinforced why I decided to run.

I don't believe politics should be about simply defending the way things have always been done.

Change doesn't mean throwing everything away.

Change means being willing to ask whether we can do things better.

It means looking carefully at how we spend taxpayers' money.

It means listening before making decisions.

It means considering different perspectives.

And it means being willing to challenge the status quo when residents deserve better.

THAT IS WHY I'M RUNNING.

I'm running to bring my experience, my work ethic and a fresh perspective to Owen Sound City Council.

I'm running as an independent candidate.

And I'm running to be a voice for change.
