A DIFFERENT PATH TO PUBLIC SERVICE

I’m running for Owen Sound City Council because I believe my experience can bring a different perspective and a practical approach to the Council table.

My career has taken me through management, operations, labour leadership, technical education and financial services. Each experience has taught me something different about people, problem-solving, accountability and responsible decision-making.

Management & Operations

As a former Operations Manager, I gained experience managing people, planning operations, solving problems and making practical decisions with real-world consequences.

Labour Leadership & Advocacy

Today, I serve as Vice-President of CUPW Local 582.

Representing workers has taught me the importance of listening, advocating, negotiating through disagreements and finding practical solutions. It has also shown me how important it is for people to know that their concerns are being heard.

Financial Services Experience

I am registered in Ontario as a Dealing Representative with a Mutual Fund Dealer and licensed as a Life Insurance and Accident & Sickness Insurance Agent.

That experience has strengthened my understanding of financial matters, risk and responsible decision-making.

Technical Education

I hold a Bachelor of Technology in Textiles, which gave me a technical foundation and taught me to approach problems through analysis, processes and practical solutions.

WHAT THESE EXPERIENCES HAVE TAUGHT ME

Leadership isn't about having all the answers.

It means listening before making decisions. Asking the right questions. Understanding the facts. Being willing to challenge an idea when something doesn't make sense. And working respectfully with people who may not always agree with you.

WHY THIS MATTERS TO OWEN SOUND

Municipal decisions affect our everyday lives — from property taxes, roads and transit to housing, recreation, infrastructure and public spaces.

I believe Council is stronger when people with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives are at the table.

I'm not running to represent a political party.

I'm running as an independent candidate to represent the residents of Owen Sound.

My experience is different.
My perspective is practical.
And I'm ready to listen.
