I ordered throughout the pre-production of AquaTru in September 2015 and purchased my unit for $199 plus $19.95 shipping. Delivery of the preliminary product was delayed due to replacing the VOC filter supplier to a higher quality provider (planned delivery was at completion of December, but ultimately delivered at the end of February). AquaTru threw in a complimentary silicone wrapped glass water bottle for the delay and used a complete refund if I wanted to cancel the order.
On arrival, the unit was simple to put together, you simply install the filters, replace the cover for the filters and place newly washed tanks in place, plug in and run four cycles (discarding after each) and it's ready for drinking.
I've had my system for a year now and have never had a problem with it nor any leaking of the unit, and I like the taste of my water. I can taste the distinction between the quality of the AquaTru water versus the filtered water from my fridge. I run my AquaTru nearly daily. I have it on a high, narrow stand in a corner of my kitchen area and fill my Takeya airtight pitchers with the water and sometimes infuse with fresh fruit and shop in the fridge.
I personally wouldn't advise the purchase of the extra water tanks for $50, as I have observed the couple of times that I've placed the water tank that included the unit on the countertop, and there had actually been a small amount of water left. Use pitchers rather; Takeya's are terrific for this.
I have actually had actually R.O. formerly installed under the sink that was really large, used up storage area and filters didn't last as long as the AquaTru. I had it removed during a kitchen area remodel.
I have actually had no need to call AquaTru customer service, and my order for extra filters showed up quickly. I'm extremely happy with the AquaTru and fantastic tasting water.
P.S. Another reason I bought AquaTru is that the business says it eliminates 90% of fluoride from water. I have hypothyroidism, and fluoride is detrimental to the thyroid gland inning accordance with clinical research studies. Having drinking water with a significant reduction of fluoride provides me comfort and hopefully minimizes development of my hypothyroidism.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I just got my water filter therefore quickly after I bought it. I had a question as I was assembling it so called in. I got a representative right away and they addressed my question knowledgeably.
For the first time, my water tastes wonderful without any aftertaste. The unit is quiet and runs really quickly. I'm really satisfied with this water filter and at a portion of the cost of installing a huge system under the sink. Great work Aquatru!
