2003 Toyota 4runner V8 Limited

I bought this vehicle after a 2 month search. The goals of this build is a reliable family hauler that move my wife, kid, our dog around town, out of town, or offroad whenever possible. I believe the kids call it overlanding these days :D I previously owned a 95 Discovery but it ended up gaining too much weight and with the cost of gas ended up being too expensive to maintain.

So why no Land Rover this time around? I'd rather have the reliability of the Toyota, the lower cost, and greater accessories choices. Everything for the Land Rover seemed like it cost $1000 and had to be imported from somewhere else. Also it leaked oil since new, got horrible gas mileage, was underpowered, etc. The 4runner used was better than the Land Rover new.

Current Mods:

  • Bilstein 5100 2.5" lift / Daystar 1.5" rear spacer
  • Rola Rack with extension
  • Lund catch all floor mats
  • Kenwood head unit and back up camera

Planned mods:

  • Old man Emu 886/896 lift springs - stock springs are too soft
  • wheelers 1/4" top spacer
  • reuse daystar 1.5" spacer
  • front winch mount with 9K lb winch
  • change all diffs to synthetic fluid
  • fujimoto oil drain
  • Detroit Locker
  • 255/80r/17 tires, either BFG or Cooper ST MAXX

and that's it...
