Air Quality Levels

The indicator light on your IKEA VINDRIKTNING Air quality sensor should normally green. It might sometimes temporarily change to amber or red when there is some smoky air in your house, perhaps because something burned in the kitchen.
However, if it stays amber or red, you might have an indoor air quality problem.

  • LED indicators for air quality (PM 2.5, ug/cm3):
    Green: 0-35 Good + Low
    Amber: 36-85 OK + Medium
Red: 86- Not good + High

What to do about air quality issues?

  • Is there an outdoor air quality issue in your location? Refer to:

  • If your indoor air quality remains poor, consider the steps you can take using the information linked on Resources.

  • How does your indoor air quality sensor level compare to other sensors developed by participants in this workshop
that are also affected by an outdoor air quality issue?
Review our Boulder Indoor Air Quality sensor data and map.
If other sensors are displaying normal levels, perhaps there are steps you can take to improve your indoor air quality.
If all the sensors are "Red," then perhaps it's time to temporarily leave the area while the air quality is poor.
