Objects and Activities

(i) To be an umbrella body for principals and teachers/Tutors of pre-primary teacher-training institutions of Uganda

(ii) To Conduct professional development activities and professionalize the pre-primary education sector in Uganda.

(iii) To coordinate, train, examine and certify pre-primary teacher-trainees at different levels.

(iv) To transform the pre-primary Teacher Education (pedagogical) practices of tutors/educators in collaborating pre-primary Teacher / Early Childhood Development (ECD) training institutions in Uganda and beyond.

(v) To Conduct research in the field of pre-primary teacher-education

(vi) To collaborate with the Ministry of Education and other relevant government ministries, institutes, private sector, civil society, development partners, academia, NGOs, and other stakeholders in the field of ECD and pre-primary teacher education to do all such other things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of those objects

(vii) To Conduct community and academic bases projects and programs that enhance improvement of Pre- Primary Teachers Training and skilling in Uganda

(viii) To undertake action research for development of in innovative methods, processes and practices for improvement of teaching-learning environment in Pre- Primary Teachers Training Institutions;

(ix) To develop and disseminate learning resources like Textbooks, Laboratory Manuals, Video Programmes, Computer Assisted Instructional Multimedia Packages to Pre- Primary Teachers Training Institutions and other organizations;

(x) To offer programmes for Pre- Primary Teachers Training Institutions in distance learning mode using state of-the-art technologies;

(xi) To offer courses/programmes for Pre- Primary Teachers Training Institutions to meet both local and overseas demand.

(xii) To institute and award fellowships, scholarships, prizes and medals.
