TAMU Geography Society

Our vision is to develop creative and technically competent geographic-minded professionals to thrive within industry.

Student Organization Goals

We are a collection of undergraduate and graduate students that hold bimonthly meetings to help connect students with professional opportunities (jobs, internships, etc.). We aim to be professional organization that does not simply "sit and listen" but "walk and talk". This is accomplished through our affiliation with professional chapters and with our campus events: "TAMU Drone Day"

Our meetings for Spring 2020 will be from 6:30 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. in O&M room 805 on the first and third week of the month

Professional Affiliations

We are proud to be a recognized student chapter of the Association of Petroleum Surveying and Geomatics and the International Association of Hydrological Sciences. With these affiliations, we are able to attend professional networking events and technical sessions, typically free of charge.

Our organization is made up of Oil and Gas professionals and students -- experts in geomatics, surveying, geospatial data management, mapping sciences, and more -- with an interest in geodetics and cartography relating to the worldwide development of petroleum.

The mission of The Hydrographic Society of America (THSOA) is to promote education in hydrography.
