The Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission (APSECM) is constituted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh to effectively manage energy needs, realize the need for energy conservation, effective usage and spread awareness on energy conservation & energy efficiency measures in all sectors in the State.
Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission (APSECM) is constituted vide G.O.Ms No. 38, Dated 26-09-2012 and subsequently nominated as State Designated Agency (SDA) of Bureau of Energy Efficiency, MoP, GoI, under the Energy Conservation Act 2001 vide GOMS.No.8, Dt.03.02.2014.
The APSECM is responsible for coordinating, regulating and enforcing the provisions of the Energy Conservation Act 2001 within the State. It makes efforts to institutionalize Energy Efficiency services, provides a delivery mechanism, and implements Energy Conservation and Energy Efficiency programmes under the guidance of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE).
APSECM has an important role to play particularly in creating public awareness and enforcement of the Energy Conservation Act, 2001 at the grass-root level. It is responsible for capacity building, enhancing the knowledge about Energy conservation & Energy Efficiency, preparing an action plan and project implementation.
