PROF. DR. AHMAD HATA RASIT currently holds the position of Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic & International) at UNIMAS, where he also serves as a Professor of Orthopaedics at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
As an Orthopaedic Surgeon, he provides clinical services to patients with orthopaedic issues admitted to Sarawak General Hospital. Recognizing the growing need, he established the Pediatric Orthopaedics service at Sarawak General Hospital in 2002, addressing the increasing number of cases referred from Sarawak.
In 2005, he underwent attachments at Royal Melbourne Hospital, Royal Women's Hospital, Royal Children's Hospital, Mercy Private Hospital, and St Vincent's Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. During these attachments, he acquired skills in managing common pediatric orthopaedic issues and limb reconstructive surgery, with a special focus on Ilizarov surgery.
His research primarily focuses on orthopaedic issues, especially spine tuberculosis and general pediatric orthopaedics. More recently, his attention has turned to wound healing and antimicrobial peptides.
Beyond clinical services, he has made significant administrative contributions, having been appointed as Dean (2012-2019), and Deputy Dean (Undergraduate & Student Development) (2006-2012) at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
Further, he has significantly contributed to the medical profession by serving as a member of the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) from 2006-2012, with subsequent reappointments in 2014-2017 and 2017-2020 by the Minister of the Malaysian Ministry of Health, reflecting his ongoing commitment to maintaining high standards of medical practice in Malaysia.
PROF. DR. ALEXEY SMIRNOV is a renowned Head of the Department for Pathological Anatomy at Volgograd State Medical University, Russia. Previously, he graduated with Honors from Volgograd State Medical University with a degree in General Medicine (1994) and PhD in Medicine (1998), Doctor of Medical Sciences (2006). To date, he has been an outstanding chief supervisor for 12 PhD students and 2 Doctors of Medical Sciences in Pathological Anatomy. In addition, he also supervised 2 PhD students in Cellular Biology.
Prof. Dr. Alexey Smirnov's main research interests include neurobiology of aging and stress, pathology and pharmacology of diabetes mellitus.
ASSOC. PROF. DR. SITI NURMA HANIM HADIE is currently the Head of Anatomy Department and Anatomy Education Course (GAM 504) Coordinator, School of Medical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).
She obtained her MD (2005) Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, MSc (Clinical Anatomy) (2010) and PhD (Medical Education) (2017) from Universiti Sains Malaysia. She has vast teaching experiences in gross anatomy, neuroanatomy, histology and embryology. She supervises Ph.D and Master candidates in Anatomy Education research. Up to date, she has supervised and mentored 7 PhD students and 5 Master of Science students with more than 50 undergraduate students.
Dr. Siti Nurma specializes in the field of Anatomy education, Cognitive Load Theory-based Teaching, Teaching methodology, Histology and histomorphometry.
ASSOC. PROF. DR. MATVEY TRIZNO received his PhD from Volgograd State Medical University, Russia and graduated from the Astrakhan State Medical Academy in 2008.
Soon after, he became a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Human Anatomy. Consequently, he worked as a teacher, senior lecturer and then appointed as associate professor at the Department of Normal and Pathological Anatomy of Astrakhan State University.
He is a devoted member of the Russian Society of Anatomists, Histologists and Embryologists. His research interests are aging process and mathematical modeling. He published 3 papers in SCOPUS/WoS-cited journals books and more than 40 papers in local journals.
ASSOC. PROF. DR. WAN ZUHAINIS SAAD currently holds the position of Head of the Department of Microbiology at the Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), where she also serves as an Associate Professor in Microbiology.
She has been recognized with copyrights for three E-learning products: Micquizzit, Mighty Microbes, and Big Book of Microbes, showcasing her enthusiasm for Educational Technology. Dr. Saad is dedicated to implementing E-learning and active learning approaches to enhance student engagement and promote effective, meaningful learning experiences.
Dr. Wan Zuhainis was shortlisted for the QS Wharton Reimagine Education Award in both 2015 and 2016 and has been honored with the Vice Chancellor Fellowship Award (Teaching Category) in 2012 and 2016 (Excellent Educator Award). She has also earned gold, silver, and bronze medals at the International and National Universities Carnival on E-Learning, involving undergraduate students from the 1st to the 7th semester.
Additionally, she is a Higher Education Leadership Academy (AKEPT) Master Trainer in E-learning and Interactive Lecture. Dr. Wan Zuhainis is an active trainer, specializing in E-learning, Modular Approach, Blended Learning, Flipped Classroom, Active Learning, and “Making Learning Fun.” She has conducted E-learning workshops at various public and private universities, demonstrating her commitment to educational development and innovation.
ASSOC. PROF. DR. YONG YOKE KEONG is a distinguished Physiologist and serves as a Research Coordinator in the Department of Human Anatomy at Universiti Putra Malaysia. With a teaching career spanning seven years, he held the position of Head of the Physiology Unit from 2013 to 2020, where he specialized in instructing Human Physiology for the undergraduate medical program. His primary research focus encompasses vascular biology and the study of natural products. Since 2016, he has been actively engaged in journal editorial activities both nationally and internationally. Additionally, he is a member of the Malaysian Society of Pharmacology and Physiology, the Working Group on Atherosclerosis & Vascular Biology, and the Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy division of the European Cardiology Society.
