The Learning Common (formerly Media Center)

The Learning Commons is the heartbeat of the school and this is where your 21st Century transformation can begin. The Learning Commons has the ability to touch and impact all students/classrooms in your building. There are many ways to transform your Media Center into a Learning Commons that promotes 21st Century skills (4Cs- Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, Communication). The Learning Commons is also a great space to have a mini maker space.

There needs to be individual spaces, collaboration spaces, and soft seating in the Learning Commons.

Learning Commons is where the text media, technology, and furniture merge.

Enclosed Pod

The pod is a stand alone glass enclosed unit that has it's own ventilation system with the ability for the ceiling to open/close to let in air from the room. The pod also has power with built in lights and connections for electron devices. These pods can serve many purposes including an SEL space, a wellness space, etc.

Esports

Esports is a Georgia High School Athletic Association-sanctioned sport for high schools. Esports falls under the umbrella of the APS Athletics Department (Wendell Jackson). Each high school has an athletic director who can provide more information about a competitive Esports team at your school. Students can earn college scholarships through Esports.

Esports is also available for elementary and middle schools as a club.
