Coachella Spotlights Colorful Outfits and Talented Artists
by Aislinn Rendulic, Editor-in-ChiefCoachella comes around each year showcasing reunited groups, famous artists, and exciting upcoming artists. However, what it’s really known for is the fashion - specifically eccentric outfits, glitter, and often a lack of clothing! The festival occurs during two weekends in April in Indio, California just two hours away from Los Angeles.
Dozens of bands perform during all hours throughout the festival amid art installations, gourmet and crazy food options, dance parties, games, a vintage market, a record shop, and a Ferris Wheel. The festival attracts a whopping 250,000 attendees every year making it one of the most well-known music fests.
This festival is held in the middle of nowhere, and while many fans could find a nearby hotel, most folks land a camping pass and stay on the premises. Many people even go as far as having baby showers and birthday parties themed after Coachella. This year, the festival featured artists such as Harry Styles, Billie Eillish, Doja Cat, and Carly Rae Jepsen. Unlike many musical festivals, Coachella is a lot more laid back and less rave. This means there are less hardcore drugs and it is slightly more family friendly. Coachella overall features good vibes, music, and food keeping many coming back every year for more.

Converse Hypes Lifting Shoes
by Sydney Waryanka, Features Editor
Jumping into the month of April, many people are setting fitness goals for their summer body. Platform Converse lifting shoes are a popular choice as are Nike Platform shoes. So, why are more people using Converse at the gym? Junior Abigayle Henderson claims, “I lift with platform shoes to give myself more stability when doing certain exercises.” Lifting with platform shoes like Converse, helps produce more force during the lift. They help lifters push through the floor more easily during the workout producing better results.

Dressing Up Dorms
by Jordan Catanzarite, Reporter
Seniors who are attending college in the fall are already thinking about their dorm rooms and how to decorate them to express their personalities. The evolution of dorm design has intrigued students to make the transition from home to dorm living, without ruining their unique style. Some ways to dress up your dorm are to add LED neon lights. In fact, experts say neon lights are good for an energy boost. Even the free standing ones in the shapes of a moon or butterfly can lighten the atmosphere. Senior Ava Marcieski exclaimed, “I think neon lights would add a fun touch to dorm rooms. You can make them any color to match the style of your room no matter how many times you redecorate, which is very convenient!” Another thing to consider is buying an ottoman which is cute and functional as well. An ottoman can help you get onto your bed if it’s lofted, and you can store extra blankets inside. One more idea - adopt a plant. Nothing adds instant style and beauty to a space quite like a plant. However, if you absolutely don't trust your plant parenting skills, go faux with realistic-looking greenery that you never have to water.
Getting Outside is What’s in this Summer
by Jacquie Broush, Reporter
Summer is approaching quickly and students are anxiously awaiting for those doors to open and summertime to be at their feet. For summer 2022, staying inside is not the move. There are a ton of different things to do and places to see locally that would be perfect to do with friends this summer. Not only is getting into nature fun, it is also free! Nature provides ways to benefit mental, physical, and emotional health. Senior AnnaMarie Pacione loves to hike with friends and says, “Disconnecting and getting out with a friend is so refreshing and mind opening. Connecting with others while disconnecting makes us feel happy. I always have the best deep conversations on hikes.” Being in nature and enjoying the outdoors can be relaxing and reduce stress while providing some much needed vitamin D after this long winter.
Ohiopyle State Park is a great place to take friends to go hiking, grab a bite to eat, and have a good time. It is less than an hour away from Greensburg. Ohiopyle has a small town area with a pizza shop, ice cream parlor, and stores. Ohiopyle is also known for its white water rafting adventures down part of the Youghiogheny River.
Obviously, the options for hiking and nature spots do not stop here. To find more hiking and nature spots that are local, the AllTrails app is a great way to find places, see how far they are, what they have to offer, and see brief descriptions with pictures.
If you aren’t up for the drive, take a walk with your dog, garden in your backyard, or even just sit outside and relax. Pack a picnic and drive up with some friends for the perfect summer day.
