This rubric was designed after reviewing the relevant literature and other rubrics designed by experts in the field (see References for more information). As a team, we determined the most important and relevant aspects to include in our rubric, however, there are still some items we felt necessary that are not applicable to some of our applications. For example, it does not make sense to rate a visual impairment aide on whether different levels of difficulty were available. For this reason, we omitted those items and lowered the total number of items evaluated, so as not to lower the overall score.
