Initially, the project planned one study tour to Estonia and one study tour to Russia. Each study visit was to be attended by participants from both Estonia and Russia. Due to the difficult international environment, the project has carried out two study visits in Estonia, in which only participants from Estonia have taken part.
Thanks to two study trips to Estonia, we were able to expand the circle of people who received new knowledge. Since a trip was organized for representatives of apartment associations in Kohtla-Järve, knowledge and information about the use of buried containers and the correct sorting of waste, as well as waste recycling, was also disseminated to apartment associations.
During the fourth project period, two study visits were organized:
- for representatives of municipal institutions (15.11.2023);
- for representatives of the apartment associations of the city of Kohtla-Järve (17.11.2023) ().
The aim of the study visits was to train the workers in municipal institutions and the representatives of the apartment associations of the city of Kohtla-Järve on different aspects of separate waste collection. The lectures was covered such themes as need for waste separation, who waste separation is necessary, how it can be organized, different methods as well as focus at the practical issues of using the new underground containers, their differences compared to the on-the-ground containers, rules and regulations of using underground containers etc.
The participants of the study visits also visited waste recycling sites.
