Updated Appleseeds Unit Materials and Decodable Readers
The Appleseeds instructional materials have been updated to increase student engagement and provide a sense of connection through updated decodable readers with characters that are more diverse and authentic, lesson activities and images that promote inclusion and belonging, and asset-based language to center each student’s unique strengths and needs. Appleseeds Multilingual Learner Implementation Guide K-2
The Appleseeds Multilingual Learner Implementation Guide has been developed to better support educators to provide foundational skills instruction to multilingual learners with Appleseeds in Kindergarten through Grade 2. The guide provides educators with proven early literacy structures and strategies that leverage students’ home languages, cultures, experiences and interests, and centers an understanding of language acquisition to best meet the unique needs of multilingual learners. New Resource: Appleseeds Family Letters in Six Languages
The Appleseeds Family Letters are now available in English, Chinese, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, Spanish, and Vietnamese to support and inform families as their children progress through the Appleseeds curriculum. These letters are available in the updated Instructional Materials Google Folders linked below.
The Appleseeds materials are being continuously reviewed and updated to best align with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's (DESE) commitment to inclusive and culturally responsive curriculum.
