06/10/2022: Dr. Kandel receives tenure and promotion to the rank of Associate Professor by the Wisconsin Board of Regents.
Dr. Kandel received the Summer Research Award 2022 for Adam Ghouse from the CNHS ($2500).

Dr. Kandel receives UW System/Wisys Applied Research (Ignite) Grant
Dr. Kandel's project, Nanofabrication of YBa2Cu3O7 (YBCO) based Superconductor (S)-Insulator (I)- Superconductor (S) Tunneling Sandwich-type Josephson Junction (submitted jointly with UW-Madison) was selected for funding under the UW-System 2019-20 Applied Research Grant program. The criterion for selection included technical merit, quality of research design, likelihood of successful completion, and specifically, potential impact of Wisconsin's economy.
