API stands for Asian and Pacific Islander. There are several acronyms utilized to represent Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, including APA (Asian/Pacific American), AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander), and AANHPI/AMEMSA (Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander/Arab, Middle Eastern, Muslim, South Asian).
Understanding the extensive diversity within the Asian continent is essential to grasp the true meaning behind terms like "Asian" or "Asian American."
Although the event primarily focuses on the experiences and lives of API youth aged 13-24, individuals of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to join and engage. We kindly request that all participants adhere to the following community agreements:
1. Show respect towards one another.
2. Prioritize safety within the group.
3. Remain open to diverse perspectives and ideas.
