Report of the JAIF Project to Ministry of Education and Sport, Lao PDR (Vientiane, November 1st, 2017)

Prof. Mitsuhiro Maeda, Secretary General of APEN met with Dr. Saykhong Saynasine, Director General of Higher Education Bureau of Ministry of Educaton and Sport, Lao PDR on Novemeber 1st, 2017 and reported the outcome of the APEN JAIF Project.

Industry – Academia Collaboration Seminar (Lao-Japan Institute, National University of Lao PDR, October 31st, 2017)

APEN held Industry – Academia Collaboration Seminar at Lao-Japan Institute, National University of Lao PDR on October 31st, 2017.

At the beginning, Prof. Dr. Seiichi Kawata, Chairperson of APEN, made a presentation of the report of APEN JAIF (Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund) Project.

Assistant Prof. Karmjitsinh Bihola of India Chapter of APEN made a presentation on Industry – Academia Collaboration.

Prof. Dr. Ade Sjafruddin of Indonesia Chapter of APEN made a presentation on Infrastructures Development in Indonesia and ITB’s Efforts to Support the Development Program.

Prof. Mitsuhiro Maeda of Japan Chapter of APEN made a presentation on An Info-Socionomics Methodology of Compiling Developmental Strategies to cope with the Middle Income Traps in East/South-East Asia.

Assoc. Prof. Bounlouane Douangngeune, Ph.D. of Lao PDR Chapter of APEN made a presentation on Seed of Education-Industry Linkages in Lao PDR.

Prof. Ir. Dr. Sha’ri Bin Mohd Yusof of Malaysia Chapter of APEN made a presentation on APEN Industry – Academia Collaboration Seminar.

Prof. Dr. Alvin B. Culaba of Philippines Chapter of APEN made a presentation on A Quadruple Helix Partnerships in STI Hub Development in Tacloban City, Philippines.

Dr. Bui Quang Hung of Vietnam Chapter of APEN made a presentation on ICT Industry – Academia Collaboration in Vietnam.

The 7th Board of Directors’ Meeting of APEN (Lao-Japan Institute, National University of Lao PDR, October 31st, 2017)

APEN held the 7th annual Board of Directors’ Meeting at Lao-Japan Institute, National University of Lao PDR on October 31st, 2017.

In the Meeting, Prof. Dr. Seiichi Kawata, the Chairperson of Japan Chapter of APEN has been elected as a new Chairperson of APEN.

Directors discussed on the future action plan and the outreach issue.

APEN JAIF Project Seminar in Thailand – Dissemination of Project Outcomes in Thailand (Bangkok, Thailand, June 1, 2017)

APEN held the APEN JAIF Project Seminar in Thailand under the JAIF (Japan ASEAN Integration Fund) scheme at Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology of Thailand (TNI) jointly hosted with TNI. In the seminar, Dr. Krissanapong Kirtikara, Chaiman of Kasetsart University Council and Mr. Suwanchai Lohawatanakul, the Executive Director for Business Development, Technology Promotion Association (Thailand-Japan) delivered keynote speeches. After the speeches, representatives from AIIT and active APEN JAIF Project leaders from Indonesia (Prof. Ade Sjafruddin), Malaysia (Prof. Sha’ri Mohd Yusof) and Philippines (Prof. Alvin B. Culaba) presented APEN JAIF Project outcomes of each chapter to Thai people. In the last, presenters and floor exchange the opinion how to disseminate the outcomes of the project in Thailand.
