My name is Ashley Kelly Patterson, and I am an educational leader in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with a passion for instructional excellence, educational technology, innovation, and organizational leadership. I was born and raised in Zachary, Louisiana, and graduated from Zachary High School, which is part of one of Louisiana's highest-performing school districts.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Southern University and A&M College in 2011. After graduating, I began my career teaching middle school social studies (grades 6–8) in one of the most underserved communities in Baton Rouge. This experience strengthened my commitment to educational equity, student achievement, and providing high-quality learning opportunities for all students.
In 2016, I earned a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University. Following the completion of my graduate studies, I served as a TAP Master Teacher and Instructional Specialist, where I coached educators, supported school improvement initiatives, and worked to enhance instructional practices across schools.
I currently serve as an elementary school principal in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. In this role, I focus on improving academic outcomes, developing teacher leadership, and fostering a positive and supportive school culture for students, staff, and families.
I am passionate about educational technology and enjoy helping educators integrate digital tools into meaningful teaching and learning experiences. My professional certifications include Google Certified Educator Levels 1 and 2, Google Certified Trainer, Nearpod Certified Educator, Edulastic Certified Educator, and Clever Certified Educator.
Most recently, I have been expanding my expertise in the use of artificial intelligence in education. I have been learning how to effectively leverage AI tools to enhance instructional planning, streamline administrative tasks, personalize learning experiences, and empower educators to work more efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on high-quality teaching and student success.
Outside of my professional responsibilities, I enjoy cooking, spending quality time with my family, and investing in my faith and community. My husband and I are the proud parents of five children.
