is a 3ds Max Script for linking and link updates for SketchUp, FBX, and OBJ files, preserving position, scale, rotation, materials, modifiers, layers, and more.

Verify the source file before generating a link with this script. If the source file is defective or corrupted, in 3ds Max it can generate incorrect mapping and chaotic pivot detection.
To properly manage versions (of the source file), you need to create different files; if you only work with one file by overwriting it, you will not be able to generate a relink to a previous version later.
Use the script with 3ds Max units in cm.
Added support for 3dsmax 2027.
Various minor optimizations.
Developed and tested in 3ds Max 2026.3 and Windows 10.
Features:
Link option: This group of tools creates a link between the source file and the geometry imported into 3ds Max.
You can create one link, or multiple links at the same time, and you can also link different formats at the same time.
Imports: materials (in 3dsmax it generates default materials), textures, cameras (respects the original position and orientation), geometry.
Quick options, controlled by checkbox, add smoothing modifiers and UVWMap type box (100x100x100 cm).
Hiearchy mode: there are three ways to group imported geometry (each option has default grouping and layer organization options; it is recommended to review/test before using in production to choose the one that best suits your workflow).
If you choose an import method in the first link, it cannot be changed when you update that same link.
Update Link:
This group of tools allows you to manage the configurations for updating previously generated links.
In some cases, the imported geometry requires corrections, such as using the ResetXform or CleanUVW modifiers.
It is recommended to perform these corrections manually only when necessary .
Currently, the script cannot preserve all types of modifiers, so it is recommended to test it before using it in production.
