Through the Mo School Scheme, Govt of Odisha has provided a philanthropic platform for Students Alumni to contribute and catalyze a healthy, inclusive and creative environment to groom a new generation of students in every school. The scheme aims to create a platform for people to connect, collaborate and contribute to the development of government and government-aided schools in Odisha. A robust and vibrant school education system holds the key to a brighter future for the state and its people. Odisha needs to groom its school children to be successful citizens that shape the emergence of a progressive and cosmopolitan state leading it to be the most developed one in the nation.
Inspired by the mission and objectives of the Mo School Scheme, and taking advantage of the social networking platforms, students from various batches of the Akhua Odang High School have come forward to be part of this unprecedented philanthropic movement to contribute to the development of their school. While the Mo School scheme has certainly provided this initial impetus, the alumni is keen to explore new opportunities beyond what is allowed under the Mo School Scheme to bring in holistic changes and contribute to the development of the school as well as all round development of its current and future incoming students. In order to achieve this goal in a structured and planned manner, Alumni members living in various cities – both within and outside India – have connected virtually and agreed to organize themselves in form of an association in the name of “AOHS Alumni Association”. Decision to form an association including its governance structure was taken at the 4th meeting of the Alumni held on March 7, 2021.
