Costume Details

All of our costumes are pictured online on our COSTUMING PAGE on the ATD WEBSITE. These are the costumes that we intend to use for the show, however, once we do our Costuming weekend, costumes may be changed or adjusted based on number of dancers and sizing needed. 

Undergarments for dancers

It is important that dancers have the correct undergarments. Since your dancer will be changing backstage and some costumes are shared between casts, for hygiene and modesty purposes, every female dancer is required to wear a nude leotard and every male dancer is required to wear black compression shorts underneath all of their costuming items. Female dancers who need more support can wear a flesh tone strapless bra. No bra straps should show on stage.

Black compressions shorts are typically available at any department store, Walmart, Fred Meyer, Target, etcetera. CLICK HERE to view a pair available for purchase on Amazon.

Costume Guidelines

Costumes are provided by ATD and remain property of All That! Dance Company.  Costumes will remain backstage during the run of the show for all group roles. Some costumes may be sent home with leads and our older dancers. You are expected to follow these costume guidelines.

• Costumes are never to be machine washed. Hand wash and hang dry or dry cleaning are permitted.

• Costumes should not be changed or altered without the permission of ATD.

• Costumes should be returned clean in the same condition that they were distributed.

• Costumes should be hung whenever possible and are not to be worn outside of the theatre. Costumes should not be worn outdoors or while in the audience.

• Any lost or damaged costume will be invoiced to your account for the replacement amount.

Tights & Shoes

Every dancer is responsible for purchasing the correct shoes and tights for performance. We provide a professional level show and as such, require shoes and tights to be identical, just as they would in any professional venue.

Shoes: Shoes for performance will be the same as the designated class shoe per the ATD Dress Code distributed before the start of season. Please check with us if you have any questions before wearing new shoes so we can approve them. You can purchase shoes online at our ONLINE DANCE SHOP and we encourage shoes to be purchased now.

Tights: Must be purchased through the ATD Dance Shop so that the colors are correct and all dancers match exactly. Each role will be assigned a certain style of tights. Tights are $ 8.00 for children sizes and $ 10.00 for adult sizes in our shop.

A note about tights: As an industry, the dance world is proud to embrace dancers of all sizes, backgrounds, and skin tones. At ATD, we could not agree more! The accepted practice in the ballet world has been that dancers wear pink tights - to us, this is certainly not a reflection of their skin tone or trying to imply that the pink tight is in any way trying to emulate a certain skin tone. We love the diversity of our dancers and want to embrace each of them in their very own skin. However, the dance world has acknowledged that for some, a pink tight may not feel like proper representation of their ethnicity. Making each child feel beautiful in their own skin is far more important to us than any dance costume would ever be. If you, or your child, feels that a pink tight in any way does not feel like the right choice, please simply let us know as we will absolutely find the best option for them to feel their absolute best and brightest on stage!
