WSSB Radio Internship
WSSB 90.3 FM is a non-commercial, educational radio station established in 1985 at South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, South Carolina. The station was created to serve both the campus and surrounding community through programming that includes jazz music, news, public affairs, and cultural content. Over the years, WSSB has grown into one of the most powerful college radio stations in the state, functioning as both a community voice and a hands-on training environment for students pursuing careers in mass communications and media production.
Radio Station Intern (Digital Media & Audio Production)
As a Radio Station Intern at WSSB, I contribute to the development and production of broadcast and digital media content. This role provides hands-on experience in audio and video production while allowing me to actively participate in the creative and technical processes behind radio broadcasting.
Assist in the creation and production of Public Service Announcements (PSAs) and broadcast content
Record, edit, and produce audio using Adobe Audition
Edit video and multimedia content using Adobe Premiere Pro
Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop creative programming ideas
Support podcast production, including recording, editing, and structuring episodes
Ensure high-quality audio production by adjusting sound levels, clarity, and transitions
Collaborate with team members to create engaging and informative media content
Gain exposure to daily radio station operations and production workflows
