When Mater Dei Catholic founded its Model UN club in 2023, we figured someone had done this before. After all, there had previously been MUN clubs on campus. But we soon found out past clubs never had the opportunity to attend a conference - this did not discourage us from becoming the first to do so. We have been resilient in navigating the learning curb, from recruiting delegates to communicating with teachers and staff.
Our efforts have been fruitful! Within our first year, we attended two conferences, winning an award which has set the stage for years to come.
Our new passion heightened our own expectations - and through word of mouth on campus, our club grew threefold.
This started the vision for something larger. For two months, we reached out to other local schools. We got responses from Torah High School, La Jolla High School, and High Tech High North County all wanting to join. Four sets of club representatives began to meet online, spending weekends and vacation time planning a joint MUN conference. Each person brought valuable experience and unique energy to create something new.
Over time, the joint effort began to coalesce into A.N.T.S. MUN.
We are grateful you have spent your time and effort on something we believe is more than just “worthwhile." In a world divided by partisan politics and misinformation, our world – now more than ever – needs wisdom, diplomacy, and a farsighted commitment to a common good for future generations. This is what A.N.T.S. MUN seeks to bring to our San Diego community.
