KEPAC is dedicated to supporting candidates who advocate for policies that benefit public education, teachers, staff, and students. Its members make recommendations and endorsements based on a candidate's alignment with the values and needs of Kentucky’s educators. Receiving an endorsement from KEPAC means that the candidate is seen as a strong advocate for public schools and is trusted by the very professionals who work with our students every day.

In short, KEPAC represents the collective voice of Kentucky's educators, ensuring that those who run for office are dedicated to supporting and improving the state’s education system.

I’m proud to endorse Antoine Smith-Rouse for Boone County School Board. Antoine is a dedicated advocate for all students and families, with a deep commitment to equity and inclusion. As a father of nine, including special needs children, he understands the unique challenges families face and brings a personal passion to his work. Antoine’s focus on empowering students, supporting teachers, and fostering a safe, welcoming environment for every student is exactly what Boone County needs.

Antoine’s values align closely with my advocacy for underrepresented students. He’s committed to ensuring that all students—regardless of their background, identity, abilities, or circumstances—are given the opportunities and resources they need to thrive. Whether it’s standing up for special needs families, advocating for marginalized voices, or working to build a more inclusive school system, Antoine is fighting for a Boone County that reflects the diversity of its community. A Run for Something endorsement is a recognition and support offered by the organization Run for Something (RFS) to young progressive candidates running for local and state office. Founded in 2017, the organization aims to empower and support candidates who are passionate about progressive values, community activism, and improving local governance. The endorsement is typically provided to individuals under the age of 40 who align with the organization's mission of building a bench of young leaders committed to progressive causes.

An LGBTQ+ Victory Fund endorsement is a formal declaration of support given by the LGBTQ Victory Fund, a political action committee dedicated to increasing the number of openly LGBTQ+ individuals in public office. The endorsement signifies that the candidate aligns with the values of equality and justice for the LGBTQ+ community and has the potential to advocate for policies that protect LGBTQ+ rights and interests.

As a Commonwealth Institute for Parent Leadership (CIPL) fellow who has had the privilege of serving alongside Antoine, I am honored to endorse Antoine Smith-Rouse for the Boone County School Board. Antoine brings a wealth of experience in education, advocacy, and community leadership. I can’t think of anyone more qualified and passionate for this position. 

Antoine's extensive community involvement, background in higher education, and work providing foster/adoptive parent training showcase his commitment to supporting families and children. His vision for Boone County schools includes ensuring quality education for all, creating safe and supportive environments, promoting transparent governance, and advocating for innovative solutions.

I wholeheartedly endorse Antoine for his exceptional dedication and advocacy for all children. Antoine's unwavering commitment ensures that every child's needs are seen and heard. His kindness, warmth, and compassion, combined with an extraordinary drive, fuel his efforts to make positive and effective changes within the community. As PTO president, I have greatly appreciated his above and beyond support in our fundraising efforts. Antoine is a true champion for equality in public education, consistently striving to create a fair and inclusive environment for all students. I am excited to see him take his leadership to the district level, where his impact can be even greater.

Antoine is a warm, compassionate leader who strives to create an inclusive culture wherever he may be. He puts 110% into everything he does, whether that be supporting school fundraisers, helping his daughter raise funds for her Girl Scout troop, or simply by being a listening ear during a difficult time. Antoine is the epitome of who I want on the school board—with his extensive knowledge and experience in social change and education, I know my child’s individual needs are being considered, supported, and advocated for. 

I have served with Antoine on Longbranch Elementary School’s Site-Based Decision-Making Council for the past year. I have seen firsthand his dedication to fostering equity and excellence in public school education. Antoine encourages thoughtful discussion on school policies and procedures and is not afraid to respectfully challenge the status quo. He is dedicated to student success in all forms and the continued academic achievements of our school system. I enthusiastically endorse him as a candidate for the Boone County School Board, District 2 position and am excited to see his continued contribution to the Boone County Schools.
