Established in 2020 as an ad-hoc committee, the Anti Racism Committee (ARC) is a working committee of Pelham Executive Meeting. Our committee emerged from a deep commitment to promoting social and economic justice, equity, and inclusion.
ARC has grown out of a collective need to acknowledge and confront systemic racism, further advocating for members of racialized groups, including Black, Indigenous, Inuit, Metis, People of Colour (BIIMPOC), and other under-represented communities.
Over the past three years, our focused efforts have spanned everything from creating and sharing educational resources to highlighting BIIMPOC businesses and supporting causes against discrimination.
Our people are part of Quaker Meetings across Canada.
Gloria Simon-Gould and Cathy Jolliffe (who is currently on sabbatical) are part of Pelham Executive Meeting, also known as Niagara Quakers.
